some random things.

1. working at the poll site on election day at the UCSD Price Center was not at all what i expected. instead of being a busy poll site, the on-campus population ignored the elections (for san diego's mayor and city council, some judges, primary for congresspeople) - and our total turnout for our poll was 25 voters, and 20 more people dropping off their mail ballots. even my slowest election in pacific beach was about 200. and we even had extra staff sent to assist us from the Registrar of Voters... and they spent most of the day just hanging out with us. thanks to miana_dude for meeting up for lunch - what did they do to my Price Center?!

2. i had a weird dream last night. my car was parked on a dirt yard at the base of a hill, while i went to go tour some sort of facility at night. in the morning, it turned out that the fenced in yard was locked because it was being used for prisoner's rec time. and they forgot that my car was there. the convicts had already looted and stripped my car to the frame practically.. and stolen my identity from papers they found in the car. i mourned the loss of the giraffes.

3. last week's Battlestar Galactica. who is nutters? Romo is nutters!

4. congratulations to ckillian on becoming Dr. Killian. wait - he's not a PhD yet?! but by this time tomorrow it should all be signed off. next time, the wait time at Casa Guadalajara will be shorter, because it can't be any longer.
